“How long oh Lord?” I prayed. And waited.
And wondered. Could I endure the stormy
trials that seemed to have no end? How long
would I have to wait for God to answer my
prayers? For years, I thought wait referred
to a set time. Then I discovered the word
can also be translated as hope or trust.
A heart attitude, filled with hope and trust in God and the promises of his Word.
Knowing the sovereign God is the master controller of all things in our lives, empowers us to hold on a little longer. Trusting him to answer our prayers in his time, produces endurance. Hoping in the LORD always strengthens our heart.
In my brief study, I found ten ways to wait on the Lord.
1.Wait in Faithfulness – 1 Corinthians 10:13
2.Wait in Hope – Psalm 39:7
3.Wait in Confidence – Job 4:6
4.Wait in Praise – Psalm 86:12
5.Wait in Joy – Nehemiah 8:10
6.Wait in Grace – Ephesians 2:8, 2 Corinthians 12:9
7.Wait in Peace – Mark 4:39
8.Wait in love – 1 John 4:10
9.Wait in patience – James 1:3
10.Wait in His Spirit – Ezekiel 36:26
While you are waiting for God to answer your prayers, put your hope in God. Trust his promises. Then you will have a strong courageous heart.
How do you wait on the Lord when your faith is tested?
Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take courage.
