Ever been in a quandary?
You thought you had received a specific  direction from the Lord. You wonder whatit’s all about and when the answer finally comes,

its not at all what you had expected!

The disciples must have been in a quandary many times.  They had been given specific instructions for the preparation of Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem. They were to find a donkey and a colt tied and waiting for the Master’s use.

Their Messiah would ride into the city on a gentle, humble colt? But, why not a horse—picturing the power and majesty meant for a conquering King?

Through my study of the scriptures about Palm Sunday, I discovered the colt was customary for royalty and a sign of peace for the crowds who would cry out:

“Hosanna in the Highest, blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord”. *

Did the disciples understand that Jesus was fulfilling the ancient prophecy from Zechariah that day?

Do we always understand God’s will and purpose when He asks specific things of us?

I don’t believe so. Yet we are encouraged to do what He says and to trust Him when we do not understand.

Fret not when the way seems unclear.

Remember to keep drawing near.

 His purpose will be made known,

As we get up and go on.

   Share what you’ve seen and heard.

   Remember His Holy Word.

confounded—you won’t despair.

When oppressed—you won’t be forsaken.

When struck down—you won’t be destroyed.

 When tempted to grow weary,

we need not  lose heart.

We will be renewed day by day,

As we get up and go on.
