Love Saw Our Need

Love saw our  need…
Beyond the questions of Nicodemus the teacher.
The woman caught in adultery.
The thief on the cross.
Saul the Pharisee and murderer.
The lost one in church, religious, but no relationship.
The Cross of Calvary is an invitation to all.

It doesn’t matter who we are or what we have done.
The religious teacher who seeks Jesus is born again,
and receives new life of God’s Spirit.
The immoral released from guilt and shame
now walks with a pure heart.
The thief enters paradise
and lives with Jesus forever.
The Pharisee is paroled from hell,
receives new life and vision.
The religious rebel redeemed from self-works
now walks with the Living God.

If we want to know God and live with Him eternally,
we need only look to the Jesus and believe.

Made right with God by faith in Jesus—
Peace with God through the blood of His son,
A place to stand in undeserved privilege,
A hope that does not disappoint,
God’s love poured out into our hearts.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten
son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish,
but have everlasting life. John 3:16

For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day. (John 6:40)

When we see Jesus, the foot of the cross becomes the
Amazing Throne of Grace.

Will you meet me there?

Our Father in Heaven, we bow our hearts and lives before you, thanking you for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. May Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.  Forgive our sins. Renew our faith. Give us new songs of praise. In the name of Jesus our Lord, amen.

When Son-Light chases darkness
and shadows run away,
look to the One who awakens,
and breaks forth new light of day.
When life and love surround you,
like wind-blown chimes above,
Go forth with your heart singing
welcoming songs of love.

In Him was life and the light of men (John 1:4)

He Still Speaks

He still speaks… to hearts flung open wide, brought near like a child.
Am I listening?

He still reveals…shines light through lens of searching eyes.
Am I seeing?

He’s still longing…waiting from a distance, ready to forgive and heal effects of rejection and brokenness.
Am I receiving?

He’s still listening…for questions yet to be asked and answered.
Am I asking?

He still speaks.
Reveals.
Longs.
Loves.
Listens.

He’s still God and I am not.

This day I come as a child drawing near through the blood of the Lamb, acknowledging His holiness and my unworthiness. Grateful He gives the right to call Him Father. Grateful He’s still Savior and Lord after all these years and all these *bottled up tears, measured, and written down in His book.

I am grateful He still reveals light and love when I lift
the eyes of my heart, repent and return.

For God so *loved…He gave…His Son…
*the exact representation
of all the Father is and does.

He never left us…we left Him.
He didn’t abandon us…we abandoned Him.
He didn’t lie…the tempter did…and does.
He still breathes new life, peace and rest, to worn and weary pilgrims.
He still promises weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

He still speaks truth!
What truth do you need to hear to be set free?
Jesus said: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”
(John 8:32 NLT).

When Faith Turns to Trust

When faith turns to trust,
Hope springs anew and,
Love is reborn in our hearts.

When faith says believe,
kicks fear down the road,
Love is reborn in our hearts.

When faith surrenders,
Steps out and speaks up,
Love is reborn in our hearts.

The greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Who Am I?

cropped-100_4662.jpg

Not who I am,
but Whose I am.
I belong to the great I Am,
Immortal,

Invisible,
Eternal,
Only Wise God.

Not what I’ve done,
but what He’s done.
For God so loved,
He gave grace
and forgiveness
through Jesus Christ,
Son and Savior.

Not where I live,
but where my eternal home is.
Not this is my home,
but heaven is my home;
and earth
my
dressing room.

Not what I want,
but what He wants.
That I love Him with all my heart,
 soul,
mind,
and strength,

and my neighbor as myself.

Not what I will,
but what He wills.
Not my reflection,
but His glory…
shining through
broken places
of my life.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1: 12,13
