Fret Not

Featured

Fret not when your way is unclear.
Remember and Draw near.
His purpose will be made known,
as you get up and go on.
Share what you’ve seen and heard
from His Holy Word.
His purpose will be made known,
as you get up and go on.

*When tempted to grow weary,
you need not lose heart.
When afflicted, you won’t be crushed.
When perplexed—you won’t despair.
When persecuted—you won’t be forsaken.
When struck down—you won’t be destroyed.

*To the glory of God. we do not lose heart. Though our outer self  is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
s.v. Galatians 6:9 2 Corinthians 4: 8,9,15-18

Kinsman Redeemer

Featured

How could it be, Kinsman Redeemer?
You left Heaven’s splendor,
pierced through the cold darkness
of this world, and came as
a babe on that night so long ago.
You are the Eternal God who spoke
the world into being!
How could it be most precious

 Passover Lamb of God,
slain before the foundation
 of the world?

Your body and blood were enough
to forgive our sins
and reconcile us to fellowship with God!

How could it be Lord Jesus?
Death and hell could not hold the
only begotten Son of God.
You rose from the dead and ascended
back to the father, where you
now live to make
 intercession for your children!

And in my heart, Truth whispers,
My child, I love you and it was for you I died.
Love’s full redemption price was paid in full
through the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ,
our loving Kinsman Redeemer!

Spread the corner of your garment over your handmaid, for you are a redeeming kinsman. Ruth 3:9

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten son, so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Times Of Waiting

Image

Like Jacob of old, I clung with soul-effort,
“I will not let you go, until you bless me.”
Then the One who called forth the stars
called my name.
You, born again child of God;
I called you from the valley and gave you increasing faith.
I led you to the mountaintop where I tested you
more than you could know.
I opened the eyes of your heart to see what I’ve
seen all along.
I watched for the bud of patience to bloom in your heart,
and praise to move upon your lips.
I waited for you to enter soul rest, where struggles
cease and joy returns.
I sent my word, so you would understand;
Times of waiting
are in the Father’s hands.

Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates.
waiting at my doorposts. Proverbs 8:34

What Would Grandma Do?

Featured

She could neither read nor write, but that didn’t stop
Grandma Biggs from singing praises to her Lord.

Picture a little girl just about to enter Grandma’s kitchen
for a drink of water.
The sound of beautiful singing slows her footsteps.
Peaking around the corner, a curious scene unfolds.
Grandma is all alone in her kitchen,
arms raised, feet dancing, and face aglow
as she lifts her voice and sings a beautiful melodic song.

I was that little girl. A little bit afraid and way too young
to understand what I was seeing.
Yet, somehow I knew this was a sacred moment
and I was not to interrupt.
My grandmother was standing on Holy Ground.

That precious memory still warms my heart today as
I wonder how my grandmother would react had she been living
during these changing, tumultuous times.
Would she be shut up to fear or shut in to faith?

I’ve no doubt what Grandma would do.
Day by day, moment by moment, she would be shut in to faith;
choosing not to fear, whine, complain or worry.

She would first offer up her sacrifice of thanksgiving
and then pray it through, interceding on behalf of
her family and nation.

Grandma would pray it through….Until the peace of God broke through! And you better believe Grandma would stay in her kitchen, whipping up those biscuits, and preparing delicious meals for family and all those blessed to sit at her table. What a foretaste
of heaven!

Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and fulfill your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”
Psalm 50:14,15

Grace to Pray it Through

Image

I’ll pray it through, I’ll pray it through.

There’s nothing else that I can do.

I’ll pray it through, as Jesus did;

Three times I’ll pray to see it through.

I’ll ask if this cup can pass from me,

I’ll ask if it’s possible Lord, take it from me.

If you’re willing, let it pass from me.

Yet, not my will, but Your’s be done.

In all I say and all I do;

Lord give me grace to pray it through.
