Who Am I?

cropped-100_4662.jpg

Not who I am,
but Whose I am.
I belong to the great I Am,
Immortal,

Invisible,
Eternal,
Only Wise God.

Not what I’ve done,
but what He’s done.
For God so loved,
He gave grace
and forgiveness
through Jesus Christ,
Son and Savior.

Not where I live,
but where my eternal home is.
Not this is my home,
but heaven is my home;
and earth
my
dressing room.

Not what I want,
but what He wants.
That I love Him with all my heart,
 soul,
mind,
and strength,

and my neighbor as myself.

Not what I will,
but what He wills.
Not my reflection,
but His glory…
shining through
broken places
of my life.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1: 12,13

  1. This post goes so well with the old hymn, I Am His, And He Is Mine, which is fresh on my mind because Joanne & Janet sang that as a duet last week for special music at church. They harmonized so well, and many were encouraged by it. But overall, the Lord was honored and glorified.

    • Jewel, Oh I would have loved to have seen and heard your beautiful girls sing that hymn together and I know the Lord was glorified. What a joy to know that not only are we his children, but He is our God and nothing can separate us from His Love. Blessings to you and family, dear one.

  2. A very humbling reminder of how much our Father loves us. You stated it so absolutely powerfully and beautifully. Thank you, Glenda, for putting our eyes on Jesus today.

  3. Hadn’t seen this the first time you posted it so glad you posted it again. Absolutely beautiful. Indeed, not who we are, but WHOSE we are. That really does answer so much 🙂 Blessings to you!

    • Knowing we belong to the Lord brings comfort when the winds of change threaten our belief Of who really is in control. Only then can I let go and let Him work as I pray.
Blessings to you Cindy. Thanks for sharing!
