The Gift of Life

“You will never be able to have a baby!”
Our hopes and dreams were shattered
with that diagnosis one December many
years ago. Married only three years, Dave
and I lived thousands of miles away from
home and family.

We had no one to turn to. No father close by
to take us in his arms and say, “Everything’s
going to be all right”.
No One. But God.

And so we turned to the God we had heard about all our lives. We didn’t know
how to pray. But we felt desperate for some kind of comfort. So we held hands
and cried together. God please heal our broken hearts.

Six weeks later, God answered our prayers through a
doctorwho wanted to place a baby in our arms through
adoption. We brought Becky home with us two weeks
before Christmas.A precious gift at such a special time
of the year.

We celebrated Becky’s birthday yesterday. Her husband was there, along with
their four children. Four of our seven grandchildren the Lord has graciously
given us!

There is nothing more precious than a newborn baby. The miracle of the gift
of life often softens the hardest heart. Maybe that’s why God sent His Son as
a baby. Would this One pierce through the darkness of unbelieving hearts to
show us what God is like?

In a couple of weeks, Christians around the world will remember the birth of
the Christ Child. Hope will be renewed and faith reborn as we take time to
celebrate the greatest gift ever given.

The Gift of Hope
came in the form of a baby,
to broken hearts
lost in a dying world.
At just the right time,
God reached down
and gave a son.
The Perfect Son of God,
and placed him
in Mary’s arms.

For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son, so that whoever
believes in Him will not perish, but have
 everlasting life. John 3:16

Happy Birthday Jesus!
